Say HIGHlo to heat…

We’re taking it back to basics ladies and gentlemen.

Today we are talking about decarboxylation. One of my favorite cannabis topics because it’s one of the many things that makes the plant so versatile.

Decarboxylation is a term most commonly used to describe the process when heat/time are used to remove a carboxyl group from a carbon chain.

This process is what turns cannabis compounds from one of its original forms, THCA and turns it into its psychoactive counterpart THC. Heat is the main component utilized to remove the acid group creating all the fun experiences everyone is used to with Mary Jane.
Despite its ‘less fun’ effects; THCA has been utilized for inflammation, brain health, seizures, and more.
